Twelve Works of Holy Spirit in
our Christian Lives!

I. He convicts of sin!
John 16:8 KJV And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of
righteousness, and of judgment: John 16:9 Of sin, because they believe not on
me;
A. I can preach unto I am blue in my face and nothing will happen, but I have
seen the Holy Spirit fall on a crusade service and see hundreds rush forward to
receive the Living Christ.
1. Conviction of sin is the work of the Holy Spirit.
II. He regenerates us by His Power!
(John 3:5 KJV) Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man
be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
John 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the
Spirit is spirit. John 3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born
again. John 3:8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound
thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every
one that is born of the Spirit.
A. I often say that He recharges me daily. I think of the word of Paul who said
that he died daily. The reason he did that was that he died daily was that so he
could be recharged with the Power of God daily!
III. He indwells us!
Col 1:27 KJV………………. Christ in you, the hope of glory:
A. We need never to be defeated, we cannot lose for winning, and we cannot go
under for going over. You can say if God is for me who can be against me.
(1 John 4:4 KJV) Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because
greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
IV. He seals us, marking us as His own!
(Eph 1:13 KJV) In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of
truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye
were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise,
A. The world should see us and know we are His!
(John 13:35 KJV) By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have
love one to another.

1. Love is the mark of the Holy Spirit!
V. He teaches us!
(John 14:26 KJV) But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father
will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to
your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
1 John 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and
ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of
all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye
shall abide in him.
A. The Holy Spirit takes the knowledge of the Word that we read and hear and
puts it to the heart where we believe the Word of God. It is there in the heart
that the Word becomes the Rhema!
(Rom 10:10 KJV) For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with
the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
VI. He Reminds us again and again!
John 14:26 KJV) But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father
will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to
your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you
A. Are you not glad that He keeps reminding us, I know that I need many
reminders along the journey of life. I love to keep hearing Him speak to my
heart that He will never leave me nor forsake me.
B. He reminds us always from His Word. He never goes against His Word!
VII. He guides and directs our steps!
(Rom 8:14 KJV) For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the
sons of God.
(Psa 37:23 KJV) The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he
delighteth in his way.
A. I remember the day of my marriage to my wonderful wife of 43 years who has
packed her bags to travel during that time into over 120 countries to spread the
Gospel of Christ with me. I was only 23 and took a walk in the woods, when in
prayer, God spoke to my heart from His Word. I am glad my heart heard and
listed.
VIII. He is our helper and comforter.
(Heb 13:6 KJV) So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will
not fear what man shall do unto me.
Psa 54:4 Behold, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul.
(John 15:26 KJV) But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from
the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall
testify of me:
(John 16:7 KJV) Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that
I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I
depart, I will send him unto you.
VIII. Gives us Spiritual Gifts!
1 Cor 12:1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you
ignorant. 1 Cor 12:2 Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb
idols, even as ye were led. 1 Cor 12:3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that
no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can
say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost. 1 Cor 12:4 Now there are
diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
1 Cor 12:5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.
1 Cor 12:6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which
worketh all in all. 1 Cor 12:7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to
every man to profit withal. 1 Cor 12:8 For to one is given by the Spirit the
word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; 1 Cor 12:9
To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same
Spirit; 1 Cor 12:10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to
another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another
the interpretation of tongues: 1 Cor 12:11 But all these worketh that one and
the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.
IX. He fills us!
(Eph 5:18 KJV) And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled
with the Spirit;
Acts 9:17 ……….., and be filled with the Holy Ghost.
A. We should be filled with the Holy Spirit daily, He is our Daily Bead.
X. The Holy Spirit in us brings forth fruit!
(Gal 5:22 KJV) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,
longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Gal 5:23 Meekness, temperance:
against such there is no law.
A. The world should see the fruit in our daily walk.
Mat 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
XI. He empowers us by His Spirit!
(Luke 10:19 KJV) Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and
scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means
hurt you.
A. He give us power of His Spirit to WIN THE LOST!
(Acts 1:8 KJV) But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come
upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea,
and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
B. We must wait on God and be still at times, most of us just want ‘fast food
blessing’ from God. They that wait upon the Lord receive from the Lord!
(Luke 24:49 KJV) And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but
tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
XII. The Holy Spirit anoints us!
A. His anointing teaches us but we must abide in!
(1 John 2:27 KJV) But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in
you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth
you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you,
ye shall abide in him.
B. The works of the devil can only be destroyed by the anointing.
Isa 10:27 And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken
away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall
be destroyed because of the anointing.
C. He anoints us to do His Work of ministry!
James 5:14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and
let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
